Open Hand’s growing staff of creative professionals has photographed in nearly sixty countries on five continents. We have worked directly with nearly a dozen indigenous groups and produced films for a wide range of organizations—from foreign governments to local nonprofits. Our personnel have founded two for-profit media companies, have worked inside museums in everything from digital archiving to traveling exhibitions, and volunteer around the world. In addition, Open Hand's founders have taught in American universities and abroad.
Add our dedicated board members and impressive interns into the mix, and we form a unique and experienced team ready to take on the challenges of preserving culture while meeting local needs. Regardless of our diverse professional and personal backgrounds, everyone at Open Hand Studios shares a deep passion for social justice and the commitment to use their talents to build partnerships that improve developing communities on their own terms.
